My big honking tutorial for how to make a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic-style pony with Inkscape.

Still kind of a work in progress. Which is to say, I'll add more as I learn how to do new stuff. Or as I make the tutorial better, because I am not that good at telling people how to do stuff.

Updated! With a better way to handle heads. I figured out that I could disconnect the mouth/nose/snout area from the rest of the head. Means you'll have an easier time making faces since you don't need to create a collection of heads to work off of.

Another update, kind of, though I haven't done anything.

AlterForm made a guide for how to make pony eyes and for those of you who might be really new to Inkscape it'll be a big help in helping you to understand some of the stuff I did here that I glossed over.

His tutorial starts here:

So that's how you do make the lines like strokes... I'be been doing it the hard way (path to object, then making the ends pointed)

For the most part, though, I think Xerophyte turned out okay (especially for a first time) [link]

I've been using Inkscape for years, but I've never found that it's possible to make those outlines look similar to actual strokes (with smoothly varying thickness). Thanks for that tip! :> (The "Special Trick") It's very handy trick indeed :>
